For years this was one of the stalwarts of the Clare Valley, producing long-lived Rieslings and Cabernet Sauvignons in classic regional style; has now extended its range into very credible Semillon and Shiraz.

To the west of the small township of Sevenhill in the Clare Valley are some of the best Shiraz vineyards in Australia. Andrew Mitchell has made varietal Shiraz for many years, recently under the 'Peppertree vineyard' label. Deeply coloured, the wine is flooded with blackberry, licorice and a touch of tar; excellent length and mouthfeel.
